Freeform Bowls
Freeform bowls are a lot of fun to make. They take longer than anything else I make, partly because the color application is kind of tedious. The colors are added and manipulated when the piece is still a relatively small bubble of glass.

I never know exactly what a particular bowl will look like until it comes out of the annealing oven the day after it was created. Colors may have interacted in unusual or unexpected ways. But I don't know that while I'm working since everything looks kind of orange when it's over 1500 degrees. Needless to say, each of these bowls is truly a one-of-a-kind piece.
